Gongting tea uses the finest quality budding leaves from bush tea. The main production area for this variety is Menghai County, where a significant amount of shu pu'er is produced. Loose pu'er can be prepared for blending with various tea leaves, but is also suitable for aging. This is done in airtight packaging, most often large clay jars. With aging , shu pu'er does not change as much as sheng, but it becomes more refined and refined in flavor.
