The 2014 Menghai Laoshu Shengpu (勐海老树生普, měnghǎi lǎoshù shēngpǔ) sheng pu-erh features a large, beautiful leaf of a rich amber-olive color, a smooth cake shape (bīncha, 餅茶) with a pressed neifei (Kai Shun Hao brand) and minimalist, stylish packaging. The "laoshu" in the name implies that the tea was produced using raw tea from old, tree-like pu-erh bushes, ensuring a rich flavor and aftertaste.
The pu'erh tea for this sheng was harvested in the spring of 2014 in Menghai, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture. We toured the tea mountains of Yunnan, including with the owners of the Kaishunhao brand, as they selected the finest tea from renowned farms. "Sheng Pu'er from Old Menghai Trees" makes an excellent choice for an inexpensive and delicious tea party or gift.
