Mengku is a brand of Shuangjiang Mengku Tea Company (Chinese: 云南双江勐库茶叶有限责任公司; pinyin: Yunnan Shuangjiang Mengku Tea Co., Ltd.). The company covers an area of 166,500 m2, including a processing plant of 143,210 m2, and has a subsidiary, Yongde Branch. The fixed assets are 180 million yuan, the total assets are 360 million yuan, and the annual production capacity is 10,000 tons. Currently, the company has 45,000 mu of "green" tea gardens, 15,000 mu of artificially grown ancient tea trees with an age of more than 100 years, and more than 9,000 mu of organic tea garden.
The company has built the only demonstration base for the organic tea production, development and trade project in Yunnan (there are four such demonstration bases in China). The company pays great attention to the transformation of production lines, investing in new technologies every year since 2005. At present, a standardized fresh leaf purchasing workshop, a greening workshop, a drying workshop, a fermentation workshop, a packaging workshop, a finished product warehouse, laboratory analysis and product inspection facilities have been built in Yunnan Province. All this has allowed the company to obtain product quality and safety certificates, including for export.
Excellent raw materials, strict quality management system, advanced technology and unique geographical and climatic advantages have enabled the company and its series of products to win awards at home and abroad for many times. The Palace Pu'er Tea (Chinese: 宫廷普洱茶) and Special Pu'er Tea (Chinese: 特级普洱茶), produced from 2002 to 2003, won the gold prize in the famous and high-quality products competition for two years in a row. After that, other products of the company became winners of various competitions, for example, in 2004, the pressed tea (Chinese: 紧压茶) again won the important Pu'er competition, and in 2006, the tea (Chinese: 乔木王, pinyin Qiáomù wáng) won the gold and silver awards at the China International Tea Fair in Kunming, etc.
In 2005, the Mengku brand was recognized as the "Famous Brand of Yunnan Province". The company is one of the "Top 100 Enterprises in China's Tea Industry" and has a stable sales market in major cities across the country, and also exports products to Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia and other countries.
