Sochi has always been famous for its tea plantations, perhaps the northernmost in the world, but few people know about such a unique product as Sochi yellow tea.
Sochi yellow tea is a semi-fermented tea that occupies an intermediate position between green and turquoise tea. It is grown on the territory of the Sochi Nature Biosphere Reserve and has unique properties and taste qualities that make it special among other types of tea. The material for the tea is collected in early spring and, unlike Chinese yellow teas, it is not the buds that are used, but the young leaves that have just opened from the buds. In its appearance, it looks more like white large-leaf varieties of Chinese tea than yellow Chinese tea.
The main feature of Sochi yellow tea is its taste. It has a sweet, soft and flavor that has notes of baked milk and autumn leaves. It can be distinguished by notes of baked milk and chestnut, which give it a special depth and sophistication. The taste is sweet, soft, velvety, without bitterness and astringency, rich, but at the same time gentle and soft with light floral notes. The aftertaste is almost absent, only elusive baked and honey notes, characteristic of all yellow teas, are slightly manifested. The color of the drink has a light yellow tint.
Yellow tea has many beneficial properties. It contains a large number of antioxidants that help fight free radicals in the body. Yellow tea also helps improve the functioning of the heart and blood vessels, reduce cholesterol levels in the blood and strengthen the immune system.
Thus, Sochi yellow tea is not just a drink, but a real work of art. This is the northernmost variety of yellow tea in the world. Its unique taste and beneficial properties make it an indispensable element of a healthy lifestyle.

Due to the fact that this variety was hidden from foreigners for a long time, it is little known outside of China. It has only a few types: there is bud tea - Jun Shan Yin Zhen (Silver Needles from Mount Jun Shan), Yin Zhen (Silver Needles), Mei Ding Huang Ya, as well as leaf tea, which is divided into "small" and "large tea leaves" - Huo Shan Huang Ya, Bei Gan Mao Jian.
