Title: " Zhuyeqing "
Translation: " Green bamboo leaves "
Whale. 竹叶青, pinyin zhúyèqīng
Origin: Emeishan (峨眉山, éméishān), Sichuan Province (四川, sìchuān), China.
Although monks had cultivated tea in the Emei mountain region since ancient times, it remained nameless. However, in the 1960s, the local variety was named Zhueqing by Foreign Minister Chen Yi during a visit to the Wannian Mountain Temple, as the delicate leaves reminded him of young bamboo shoots. This blend is also used to make certain herbal infusions and even bamboo wine. The tea has repeatedly won top awards at various exhibitions.
Appearance, aroma and taste
One kilogram of finished tea contains 65,000 leaf buds (tips), which are pale green, unopened leaves. The aroma is exquisite, without the straightforwardness of fresh grass, but rather with iridescent notes of meadow flowers and yellow fruits. The taste is dominated by a sense of freshness, and a delicate vegetable note of asparagus stands out against the flavor of white fruit buds. The aftertaste leaves a trail of umami and a hint of sweetness.

The aroma of this tea is subtle and delicate, floral and fruity, with a light hint of meadow flowers. The washed tea leaves have a calm, slightly spicy aroma, without harshness, with a subtle hint of citrus.
The brewed tea has a very light, fresh taste, with green peas and tropical fruits in the foreground.
Zhu Ye Qing steeps for five full infusions. Gradually, the flavors of spring herbs emerge. The tea can be brewed in a gaiwan, using 5 grams per 150 ml, or in a glass flask, allowing you to admire the "dance" of the tea leaves.
The color of the resulting infusion is pale green, tending to beige, the infusion is very transparent and clean.
The aftertaste that Zhu Ye Qing leaves is fresh, voluminous and moderately tart.
This tea is a great refresher, quenches thirst, and has the ability to slightly cool the body, which is essential in the hot summer months.
Zhu Ye Qing is a must-try for connoisseurs of fresh green tea, light oolongs and sheng pu-erhs.
