Anhui Province is rich in various teas. Yellow Huoshan Huang Ya, black Luan Lan Cha, red Qimen are produced here, but the main asset is the award-winning green tea Huangshan Mao Feng.
According to records from Famous Teas of China (Chinese: 中国名茶, pinyin: zhōngguó míng chá), tea production in Huangshan began during the reign of the Song Emperor Jia You (Chinese: 嘉祐, pinyin: Jiāyòu) from 1056 to 1063. Today, this variety, along with Longjing (Chinese: 龍井, pinyin: lóngjǐng), is the most famous green tea in China.
Appearance, aroma and taste
Longitudinally twisted leaves and buds with slight bends. The infusion is light green with a yellow tint. The aroma is similar to a blooming wild orchid. The taste is refreshing, with fruity notes, an oily texture and a sweetish aftertaste.
This tea is also written as "Huang Shan Mao Feng" or "Huang Shan Maofeng" or "Huang Shan Mao Feng".
