Name: " Alishan Oolong "
Translation: " Oolong from Mount Alishan "
Whale. 阿里山乌龙, pinyin Ālǐshān wūlóng
Origin: Chiayi County (Chinese: 嘉義縣, pinyin Jiāyì xiàn), Taiwan.
Hand picked and prepared.
Alishan is a picturesque mountainous region in central Taiwan, popular with tourists. The first tea plantations appeared there in the 1920s. The Tea Research and Extension Station established that tea grown above 1,000 meters is considered high-altitude. Alishan oolong tea meets these altitude criteria. According to a 2008 study by National Taiwan University, high-performance liquid chromatography revealed that high-altitude teas contain high levels of theanine, which improves mood and enhances cognitive function.
Appearance, aroma and taste
This tea features hemispherical leaves with herbaceous and coniferous undertones. The aroma is bright and floral. The infusion is clear, pale greenish-yellow. The flavor is smooth and buttery, with a refreshing creamy profile.
Tea Line also offers other Taiwanese oolongs , which we recommend trying to expand your palette of flavors.
