Ju Long Ke Ruogui: Treasure from the Nine Dragon Gorge
Ju Long Ke Zhougui (Chinese: 九龙窠, pinyin: Jiǔlóng kē) is a truly unique Chinese oolong tea grown in the picturesque Wuyi Mountain Range. Its name, translated as "Cinnamon Oolong from Nine Dragons Gorge," perfectly captures its origins and character.
The exceptionally beautiful Nine Dragons Gorge, located within the Da Hong Pao scenic area, leads to a deep canyon, which in turn leads to Tianxing Peak. It gets its name from the undulating cliffs that surround it on both sides, resembling nine dragons. Between these so-called "dragons" is a small, rounded peak called Long Zhu (Dragon Pearl). A stone path, flanked by water, runs along the entire gorge. The visual beauty is astounding: water flows, gardens bloom, birds sing! The scent of fresh air fills your lungs, and rock carvings and poems extolling the local tea delight your eyes. This gorge is rightfully called the "Kingdom of Tea Trees," as the renowned bushes grow everywhere.
The legendary gorge
Nine Dragons Gorge is a place with a rich history and a unique microclimate. According to legend, this gorge was home to nine dragons, who irrigated the tea bushes with their magical breath. This is what gives the tea grown here its extraordinary flavor.
Guo Jiafu's Mastery
The mastery of its creator, Guo Jiafu, lends this tea its special value. He is renowned for his ability to unlock the full potential of the tea leaf while preserving its natural beauty and richness of flavor. Guo Jiafu uses traditional tea processing techniques passed down through generations, allowing him to create truly unique beverages.

Why try Ju Long Ke Zhougui?
- Unique taste: This tea has a unique taste that will not leave you indifferent.
- Beneficial properties: Like all oolongs, Ju Long Ke Zhougui is rich in antioxidants and vitamins that have a beneficial effect on the body.
Master Guo Jiafu put all his skill into creating the unique Rougui, which is made from tea bushes from a gorge whose rock walls curve like the bodies of dragons – hence the name.
Warming the tea leaves with your breath, you experience an elegant, soft, flowing aroma with notes of rye bread crust, intoxicating vanilla and cinnamon.
After washing, the heated leaf conveys shades of rye wort, crispbread, and sun-dried Crimean herbs.
This oolong tea is very rich in its infusion, oily, thick, and enveloping. The taste reveals distinctly sweet tones, a hint of oak-aged whiskey, and a hint of crispy bread crust in the background. An empty cup reveals warm aromas with hints of homemade coconut-flaked pastries.
Zhougui Ju Long Ke tea holds its steeps well; with a ratio of 4.5 grams of tea per Yixing clay teapot, it can be steeped seven times. Throughout the tea session, the infusion maintains its flavor profile, becoming watery only toward the end.
This attractive amber-red infusion leaves a rich and long-lasting aftertaste, revealing creamy caramel tones and a fruity palette, particularly hints of watermelon.
The tea's effect is clearly perceptible, with a sense of Qi flowing throughout the body, sometimes so strong that it can cause a flush of heat. This oolong tea can induce a pleasant meditative state, expand consciousness, promote creative thought, and soothe and calm.
This is a top-quality tea capable of leaving a strong impression, a tea for a special ceremony and thoughtful tea drinking.
