Da Hong Pao tea belongs to the oolong type, that is, classified as an intermediate link between green and black drinks. This unique cliff Chinese tea differs from others by its brown-burgundy-green leaf and original aroma. This drink is produced in the mountainous part of Fujian Province, or more precisely, on its northwestern side. Thanks to its unusual taste, the tea is known both in China and far beyond its borders.
The history of the noble tea Da Hong Pao
There are many legends about the origin of Da Hong Pao tea, which translates as "Big Red Robe". The following stories are considered to be some of the most popular and true tales:
1. At the end of the fourteenth century, during the imperial exams, a student named Ding Xian suffered from heat stroke near the monastery walls. Then one of the Chengs used this tea to cure the student. Thanks to the timely help, the student was able to pass the exam and obtain an important post. In gratitude, Ding Xian decided to present the monk with a red robe with a beautiful dragon on it, but the Buddhist refused such a surprise, since this was not accepted in their religion. As a result, the future official gave the beautiful robe to the tea bushes.
2. According to the second version, Da Hong Pao tea helped cure the mother of the Ming Dynasty emperor from a serious illness. As a token of gratitude, her son presented four tea bushes with large red robes in which the plants were wrapped.
Due to its rather high price, not everyone can buy Da Hong Pao , but the high cost is due to the complexity of the manual production of the drink.

Этот утёсный китайский чай производят на северо-западе провинции Фудцзянь, в горах Уи. По классу его относят к улунам сильной ферментации. Да Хун Пао (大红袍, Da Hong Pao, Большой Красный Халат, ДХП, Дахунпао) — один из самых известных китайских сортов чая — наравне с такими чаями, как Пуэр, Те Гуань Инь и Лун Цзин. Но по количеству легенд и мифов, окутывающих как сам чай, так и его название — пожалуй, на первом месте.
