Among the tea treasures of the Wuyi Mountains, a special place is occupied by Jiu long ke Ban tian yao (Noon Fairy from the Lair of Nine Dragons), also known as "Ban Tian Yao". This oolong tea from the Big Four Cliff Tea (Chinese: 四大, pinyin: Sì dà) family captivates with its enchanting aroma and multifaceted taste, rightfully considered one of the most exquisite teas in the world.
The name "Ban Tian Yao" (Chinese: 半天妖, pinyin: Bàntiān yāo), i.e. "Midday Fairy", is shrouded in legends. One of them says that a tea bush growing on a steep cliff was illuminated by the sun only until midday, which is why its leaves absorbed all the power of the heavenly body.
Traditionally, Ban Tian Yao is collected in nine caves on the slopes of Tianxin in the Wuyi Mountains. It is here, in a unique microclimate, that the tea bushes acquire their unique taste and aroma.

Brewing:
