It's funny, but the original name was xiang fanshu (Russian: sweet potato aroma, Chinese: 香番薯, pinyin: xiāng fānshǔ), because when brewed, a special smell appears, similar to sweet potato.
The plant is a bush with large leaves, with medium opening of buds. Reproduction occurs asexually. The variety appeared as a result of centuries of natural hybridization of different types of bushes "shui xian" (Chinese: 水仙, pinyin: shuǐxiān) on Mount Fenghuang and their subsequent selection. The ancestors of the manager of the tea garden Wei Jianzhi planted the mother bushes and cultivated them. Old bushes were mainly propagated by cuttings, and later acquired asexual reproduction. The mother bush withered in 1978, it was 150 years old.
The dry leaves are large, dark brown in color, with an oily-moist texture. The honey aroma, notes of orchid and fragrant herbs are clearly captured. The floral bouquet is very persistent and refined. The infusion is transparent, yellow in color. The tea has a high content of amino acids, vitamins, tea polyphenols, alkaloids and other useful substances. It has an oily consistency, rich taste and sweet aftertaste. When consumed, melodies of honey and orchid are felt, the mouth is filled with a thick aroma. The tea is called "four perfections", indicating a beautiful shape, unusual color, magnificent aroma and sweet taste. This variety is capable of giving a lot of impressions.
