The 250-gram cake of sheng pu'er of the Kaishunhao brand (勐海开顺号有限公司, měnghǎi kāishùnhào yǒuxiàn gōngsī, Menghai Kaishunhao Ltd.) called Laobanzhang (老班章, lǎobānzhāng) has several interesting features.
The tea leaves for this sheng were collected from pu-erh trees near the village of " Banpen " (邦盆, bāngpén) in the spring of 2013. The cake is called "Laobanzhang", in honor of the famous village of "Lao ban zhang", located in close proximity to the village of "Ban pen". From 2013 to 2017, the raw materials were stored by farmers in the village of "Ban pen", after which in 2017, the head of the brand "Kai shun hao" Yang Kaishun (杨开顺, yáng kāishùn) bought the maocha and these cakes were produced.
Stylish minimalist white packaging with a light picture of mountains and houses hides underneath a beautiful, slightly darkened due to aging, pressed into a cake shape tea leaf of light and dark shades with visible pile. Also hidden under the cover is an insert, which depicts tea trees from which raw tea was collected. When lightly brewed, pu-erh has floral-honey flavor and aromatic properties, and when brewed stronger, it does not taste bitter and enhances the effect.

Many people, when they first encounter this tea, wondered: why is pu-erh more often found in pressed form (cakes, bricks, tochas), and not in loose form?
