Black tea 2013 "Luan tea in a basket", loose
Title: "Luan Lan Cha"
Translation: "Luan tea in a basket"
Whale. 六安篮茶, pinyin lùān lán chá
Date of manufacture: 2013.
Origin: Luan City (Chinese: 六安, pinyin lùān), Anhui Province (Chinese: 安徽, pinyin ānhuī).
This variety is a representative of Anhui black tea (heicha) according to the modern Chinese classification. It is produced in the city of Lu'an itself, the Yuyan district (Chinese: 裕安区, pinyin: yùānqū), Jinzhai county (Chinese: 金寨县, pinyin: jīnzhàixiàn) and other surrounding areas. The plantations are located at an altitude of 600 meters above sea level. The tea is popular within the country in Hong Kong, Guangdong and Guangxi and is exported to countries in Southeast Asia.
The harvesting takes place 10 days before the grain rains (guiyu, literally grain rain; around April 20-21). After technological processing, the tea matures in baskets for 2-3 years before it hits store shelves and acquires the characteristic of chen (Chinese: 陈, pinyin: chén), which means "aged".
This tea is sometimes incorrectly written as Liu'an or Liu'an. This is because the character "liu" (六) in the local dialect is pronounced as "lu", which is recorded in dictionaries and official documents.

Pu-erh is one of the most unique types of tea, which only gets better with age. Many people, when they first encounter this tea, wondered: why is pu-erh more often found in pressed form (cakes, bricks, tochas), and not in loose form? The reasons for this are related to both history and the practical aspects of storing and fermenting tea. Despite modern technologies that allow the production of loose pu-erh, the shape of pressed cakes remains unchanged. And pu-erh is more often found on sale in pressed form, for example, in the form of cakes or bricks, and loose pu-erh is less common. We will talk about the reasons for pressing pu-erh into cakes in this article.
