Characteristics of the variety: the base raw material for this red tea is the same as for “Dian Hong” (Chinese: 滇红, pinyin diān hóng).
Origin: Yunnan Province.
This variety is a Yunnan red tea from an extremely early harvest, processed using the "dian hong gongfu" technique. Its appearance consists of tightly twisted leaves, spiraled into balls, with golden, hairy buds. The dry tea smells of resinous buds. After washing, a sweet and floral note emerges. The color of the infusion is not reddish-brown, but a brilliant amber (sometimes orange). The taste, with its sweetness and nectar, matches the aroma of the wet leaf. It moistens the mouth and throat well, and a rich, honeyed aroma lingers in the nose after drinking. It has a lingering aftertaste. The tea bottom (used tea) is smooth, soft, and red in color.
