Sun-dried Chinese red tea, Shai Hong, is one of the most outstanding innovations in the red tea industry. When dried, the tea has a playful aroma with vibrant notes of fine red wine, dried apples, and a subtle hint of Sagan-Dailya. After washing, the tea leaves impart a calm and warm aroma, reminiscent of dried herbs in a linen bag and sun-dried fruits.
The flavor of the brewed tea is calm, smooth, and straightforward. It lacks any hidden pitfalls or elusive notes, and is accented by a delicate trail of dried and candied fruits. As the infusion is steeped, a slight bitterness and a hint of astringency, characteristic of good red tea, gradually emerges.
This tea can be steeped up to five times, fully releasing its full potential. To brew, use water at 95-98°C and 5-7g of tea leaves per gaiwan or clay teapot with a capacity of 150-200ml. The infusion is clear, with an intense dark bronze color with amber undertones.
The aftertaste is light, subtle, with hints of dried fruit compote. The effect really kicks in mid-tea, warming the entire body, gently toning, and refreshing the spirit.
Shai Hong is an interesting tea for daily tea drinking on long evenings during the cold season, alone or with friends. Shai Hong is recommended for connoisseurs of red teas, as well as lovers of shu and sheng pu-erh.

It is a type of red tea from Yunnan province, and appeared on the market relatively recently, in 2014. A year later, the new product began to be actively discussed in the media, and a year later, almost every tea factory in the region presented its own version of shai hong.
