Chinese sun-dried red tea Shai Hong is one of the most outstanding innovations in the field of red teas. When dry, the tea has a playful aroma with bright notes of good red wine, dried apples and an unobtrusive hint of the Sagan-Dailya plant. After washing, the tea leaf transmits a calm and warm aroma in which dried herbs in a linen bag and sun-dried dried fruits can be discerned.
The taste of the brewed tea is calm, uniform and straightforward. It has no hidden pitfalls or indistinct notes, and is emphasized by a delicate trail of dried fruits and candied fruits. As the number of infusions increases, a slight bitterness and a share of astringency, inherent in good red tea, gradually emerge into the infusion.
This tea can be brewed up to 5 times, giving itself up completely. For brewing, you need to take water with a temperature of 95-98 °C, 5-7 g of tea leaves per gaiwan or clay teapot with a volume of 150-200 ml. The infusion is transparent, intense dark bronze color with an amber tint.
The aftertaste is light, elusive with nuances of dried fruit compote. The effect actively manifests itself by the middle of tea drinking, the tea warms up the whole body well, gently tones and refreshes the spirit.
Shai Hong is an interesting tea for daily tea drinking on long evenings in the cold season, alone or in the company of friends. It is recommended to try Shai Hong for connoisseurs of red teas, as well as for lovers of shu and sheng pu-erhs.
