Tea intoxication
There is a well-known phenomenal sensation called “tea intoxication”, which has nothing in common with the state of the body that occurs when drinking alcohol or drugs.
The nature of alcohol and drug intoxication is simple - when taking a certain amount of a substance, a person inevitably gets drunk; a light, euphoric state is inevitably replaced by a disgusting feeling - a loss of strength, a depressive mood, a decrease in mental abilities, general malaise. Both alcohol and drugs are addictive; the intoxication that comes from them is deceptive and dangerous both for the person taking them and for the people around him. Tea does not cause euphoria, does not give a deceptive feeling of the absence of difficulties - it only changes a person's attitude to life at the moment of enjoying harmony. Tea creates conditions for both physical and mental, emotional rest. Tea intoxication is never accompanied by "fraternization", laughter, tears, showdowns, dancing and daring songs.
Tea gives a person the opportunity to express his best features, not always open to public view - both external and internal. Indeed, vision is sharpened, and the familiar faces of friends look different - cleaner, more beautiful, calmer. Scraps of thoughts, which were previously prevented from being expressed by vanity and lack of time and listeners, become clear and bright, acquire the exact form of words and are pleasant for both the speaker and the listener.
Tea intoxication comes and goes in soft, unhurried waves. After the intoxication has passed, pleasant sensations are not replaced by a heavy reality. Everyday life appears to a person again in a calm, harmonious light. There is no feeling of emptiness, bad mood, headache and other negative moments characteristic of other intoxications.
Chinese tea does not cause harmful addiction, a person's life never becomes dependent on tea, in the way that alcohol or drugs enslave people. Love for tea is voluntary; in alcohol and drug addiction there is no love, just as there is no goodness and, especially, no will. Tea, like no other drink, cultivates taste and develops a sense of proportion.
